Hampshire, January 2005 – The popularity of eLearning courses that offer education via the Internet, other networks, or standalone computers is growing. Such courses benefit both students and educators by offering more flexibility about the place, pace and time at which to study, thus making education more widely accessible. However to take advantage of these benefits, students and educators must extend and develop their existing skills.
Alan Clarke is a part-time tutor in the Open University’s Master’s degree programme in Computer Science and is Senior Research and Development Officer for Information and Communication Technology and Learning at the National Institute for Adult Continuing Education (NIACE). Mr. Clarke’s extensive practical experience has been summarized in his recently published book “eLearning skills”.
This useful, informative volume answers all the main questions regarding eLearning and offers practical help. All the main topics related to eLearning are covered, and there is a glossary of eLearning terms as well as many practical activities that actively engage the reader.
Mr. Clarke’s work should prove to be an essential guide for students on eLearning courses, and will be also of interest to educators and providers of eLearning courses.
