Marc Rosenberg on eLearning
Wilmette, June 2005 – Marc Rosenberg is a leader in training, organizational learning, eLearning, and performance improvement. He is the author of the best-selling book "eLearning: Strategies for Delivering Knowledge in the Digital Age".

Just when you think you’ve figured out elearning, it changes. The fact is, elearning is evolving in many ways, triggered by business and technological changes as well as new thinking about what elearning is, and should be. We have to look to the future, going beyond a focus on courseware to come up with new ways to think about elearning and what it can, and can’t do. We need to rethink blended learning, examine knowledge management, redefine elearning’s value proposition and reposition the role of leadership in making elearning successful and sustainable in the long run.

What are the major changes coming down the pike, and how must we change as well? The critical success factor is to make the difference between a successful and sustainable elearning initiative, and one that is ineffective and short-lived. These changes will challenge some of the existing assumptions but, hopefully, they will open doors to thinking differently about elearning and the larger organizational impact it can have. Some of these new concepts around elearning will appear in Dr. Rosenberg’s new book "Beyond eLearning" to be published this fall.

Marc Rosenberg is giving a keynote speech and a post-conference workshop on "how to build an (e)learning culture" at the 2nd International SCIL Congress on October 12, 2005 .
