Successful Year for eLearning in Europe
Essen (GER), February 2010 - The year 2009 was a very successful year for European eLearning standardization. Three new standardization projects were started, and as the highlight, the first European de-jure standard was published. Train2Cert project presents ICT certificates
Schwarmstedt (GER), November 2008 - At Online Educa, Train2Cert project will present and offer ICT certificates and training to commercial partners for joint exploitation. On Friday, December 5, Dr. Piotr Zwierzykowski from the Poznan University of Technology in Poland will present vocational training solutions for certification in the most current ICT skill areas. In the 2.30 p.m. session of the "Teaching and Training Skills for the 21st Century" conference track, he will showcase blended and technology-based training formats for certificates on currently sought-after ICT skills. European eLearning platform for Senior Citizens (55+)

Pomeys (FR), May 2007 – One of the main obstacles to ICT deployment in European rural areas is the lack of cheap high-bandwidth Internet access when ADSL is not available. Alternative solutions exist, but they are expensive and reserved for professional uses (e.g. satellite access). Furthermore, the strategies for introducing ADSL in rural areas of the EU differ from country to country, and while some are already widely covered or plan to be, others will never implement ADSL everywhere because of specific geographical conditions.
