Why Wearable Technology Will Change Learning Forever

London (UK), December 2014 - David Kelly of the eLearning Guild is to speak on the impact of wearable technology on learning and performance at Learning Technologies 2015.

The Learning Technologies 2015 Conference has asked David Kelly, Programme Director of the eLearning Guild and a respected commentator on the latest learning technologies, to explore the likely impact of wearable technology on learning and performance.

"Technological advances disrupt the status quo. We’ve seen this happen a number of times in the way we address learning and performance interventions," points out Donald H Taylor, Chair of the upcoming Learning Technologies Conference.

In the last few decades, the emergence of home computers brought us eLearning, and the proliferation of mobile and smartphones has brought us mobile learning. Both of these technological advances have fundamentally changed how we look at learning and performance programs. Another technological advance is coming, one that will once again change some of our definitions and how we address performance issues: wearable technology.

David Kelly will explore wearable technology and the world of opportunity that it presents for learning and performance. Why Wearable Technology Will Change Learning Forever takes place on day two in the main auditorium at 11.10 and will look at

  • the different types of wearable technologies
  • how wearable technology is changing consumer behaviour
  • how wearable technology can be used for learning and performance
  • the unique affordances of wearable technology
  • how innovative companies are using wearable technology today

"The Learning Technologies 2015 Conference takes place 28-29 January 2015 at London Olympia II and runs alongside the Learning Technologies 2015 Exhibition and the Learning & Skills 2015 Exhibition. Together they form Europe’s most important L&D sector events. I’m looking forward to chairing another great conference this January," added Taylor.
