Trends and Techniques for Learning-Technology Design

Birmingham (UK), September 2015 - L&D professionals involved in learning-tech design can learn about the latest trends and techniques and network with key experts and peers in their sector at a new conference. "learning design live" launches this month at the renowned World of Learning Conference & Exhibition.

"learning design live" will take place for the first time as part of the World of Learning event,  29-30 September at Birmingham’s NEC. The comprehensive conference is free and specifically designed for professionals working in learning-tech design. It will provide in-depth advice on a variety of topics including design goals, diagnostic assessments, action mapping to gamifying content, and overcoming the latest challenges in instructional design.

As part of "learning design live", Dr Richard Hyde, CEO of award-winning eLearning company Mind Click will share his expertise on Action mapping from process to production. Storyboarding as a quality process - not just a document is set to be covered by Richard Law, Head of Learning Solutions at Cuerden Consulting, who will discuss how quality source content affects the quality of an eLearning course.

Delegates can also discover the latest gamification tricks used to acquire, monetise,. and retain players in a session by Mike Hawkyard, Managing Director of Amuzo. Six characteristics of compelling content will be delivered by Clive Shepherd, Consultant at Onlignment, covering planning, channels, and how to drive engagement. BT Group’s Digital Learning & Media Manager, Martyn Stevenson-Read, is also among the expert speakers. Martyn leads the team producing eLearning, animations, live action video, and web designs to enable learning across a 90,000+ workforce.

A VIP drinks reception enables delegates to share ideas and network with other design specialists.

Alongside "learning design live" is a wide-ranging exhibition that includes a range of interactive areas where visitors can receive hands-on practical advice. These include the Technology Test Drive area, where visitors can sample the latest L&D software. The Mindfulness Zone provides strategy on increasing employee productivity and engagement, while the Experiential Learning Zone delivers a series of interactive bite-sized skill sessions on key areas, including emotional intelligence.
