Virtual College Celebrate Twenty-Year Aanniversary

Ilkley (UK), November 2015 - Over 200 staff, partners, and friends celebrated Virtual College's twenty-year anniversary at the Craiglands Hotel in Ilkley. Yorkshire-based Virtual College was one of the pioneers in the online-learning arena and is enjoying a major surge in growth.

"In June 2013, we celebrated one million online learners," explained Virtual College CEO, Rod Knox. "We are likely to hit two million early in the new year - a huge increase over such a short period."

At the celebratory event, hosts Rod Knox and chairman, Bob Gomersall reflected on the beginning and development of Virtual College.

From the start, Rod and Bob shared the same vision of how technology could have a major impact on education. Rod’s technology background complemented Bob’s roots in education as they developed pioneering online-learning solutions that anticipated the adoption of technology.

Bob Gomersall commented, "We have witnessed many technological changes over the last twenty years. The one area that has had the greatest impact on our business, and many others, has been the growth of the Internet."
