Amsterdam (NL), March 2007 – The Sakai Foundation announces that the 2007 Sakai Community Conference will be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands from 12 to 14 June 2007, with pre- and post-conference sessions and activities on Monday, 11 June, and Friday, 15 June. Online registration for the Conference is now open.
Amsterdam is the first European venue for the Sakai Community Conference. The Sakai Foundation and the Sakai Community are cooperating with the Universiteit van Amsterdam on the conference. The main venue for the Tuesday-Thursday meetings is the new Movenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Center.
Sakai is an online Collaboration and Learning Environment. Many users of Sakai deploy it to support teaching and learning, ad hoc group collaboration, support for portfolios, and research collaboration. Sakai is a free, open source product that is built and maintained by the Sakai community.
