MEDEA Awards 2008PRINT
Encouraging the Use of Video and Sound
Roosbeek (BE), March 2008 – In recent years, remarkable interest has developed in the creation and use of digital video and audio throughout the European education sector. This has been boosted by the increasing impact of moving-image sites and applications across the internet and mobile devices. The MEDEA Awards were launched to encourage the use of digital moving images and sound in education. Registration for the competition is open until 30 September 2008.

The MEDEA Awards focus on the creation and use of digital video and sound in education. The awards will also recognise and promote excellence in the production and pedagogical design of media-rich learning resources. These materials will typically be delivered online via the internet or virtual learning environments and used as an integral part of a programme of study. The awards are open to anyone working with or in European education at all levels. The organisers welcome participation from producers, teachers, academics, support staff, and students.

The 2008 awards will be presented during a special event in December 2008 at Online Educa Berlin, the world's largest international conference on technology-supported learning and training. Special parallel sessions will be dedicated to the use of video in education at Online Educa 2008 to present and discuss the award-winning applications of video and audio in education.

Do you want to be part of MEDEA? The organisers still welcome new jury members and sponsors to their team.
