Learn Appeal Announces Appointment of New CEO

Lesley PriceBrighton (UK), October 2014 - Learn Appeal, the eLearning industry charity, has announced the appointment of Lesley Price as its new Chief Executive. A veteran with over thirty years' experience, Price will lead on stakeholder engagement, creating awareness and fundraising initiatives across the learning community to support educational causes worldwide.

Technology-enabled learning has the potential to change lives, and this is central to Learn Appeal’s mission. With past appointments at Becta and the Learning and Performance Institute, Price brings an unparalleled background to the role, which she will assume on a part-time basis following her recent retirement.

The charity aims to raise £50,000 in its first year and is already supporting initiatives including "Open School in a Box" – a project providing digital learning resources and GCSE-level content for disadvantaged children in remote areas. Founder of Learn Appeal and CEO of Learning Technologies Group plc (LTG) Jonathan Satchell said, "I speak on behalf of our Board of Trustees when I say we are delighted to have Lesley Price as our new Chief Executive.
