Reward Centre to Offer Learners Real-World Prizes

Berkshire (UK), January 2016 - Growth Engineering, a multi-award-winning learning-technologies company, has added new functionality to its social, gamified Academy LMS. The Reward Centre allows learners to trade in online points and badges for tangible rewards.

Growth Engineering’s Academy LMS was recently named as the world’s Best Gamification LMS by eLearning analyst Craig Weiss. The current gamification functionality includes

  • earning badges and experience points
  • levelling up
  • climbing leaderboards
  • Genie content authoring tool – build learning games using templates

The new Reward Centre adds an extra layer of gamification. Learners can earn real-world rewards by trading the experience points and badges they earn from completing learning content.

Administrators can set any rewards they want and can also choose an appropriate trade-in cost. So, for example, they can set a lower cost for a £10 lunch voucher and a higher cost for an extra day’s holiday.

When a learner visits the Reward Centre, they see their current balance of experience points and badges, as well as all of the available rewards. "Redeem" buttons only appear for the rewards they can currently afford, so they can see at a glance which ones they’ll have to keep saving up for.

When a leaner redeems a reward, the administrators are notified so that they can make any necessary preparations for delivering it.
